If you've enjoyed Lunch with an Old Bag festivities in previous years, you know how special it is...and if you're new to the occasion, you're in for a treat!
This annual key fundraising event on behalf of The Prince's Trust Scotland returns in 2023 and will be held in September at Prestonfield, Edinburgh and promises to be another incredible day.
The event started in 2009 with the aim of challenging negative stereotypes. In a youth obsessed society, women over 40 are often inappropriately perceived as “Old Bags”, as “over the hill” or “past it”, in much the same way as disadvantaged young people are often wrongly labelled. To highlight the latter, LWOB was launched to celebrate the glamour, grace, gorgeousness and gutsiness of women who aren’t afraid of birthdays, and to shine a light on the issues faced by young people in Scotland.
James Thomson OBE provides a sumptuous lunch and the ladies have been entertained by the likes of Jason Donovan, Lulu, The Three Degrees, The Overtones, Bryan Ferry and Sister Sledge. More recently we have enjoyed spectacular entertainment from an array of West End Stars. The Live and Silent Auctions offer an array of exciting prizes, many of which fall into the “money can’t buy” category, a Fast Bags Auction offers some of the fashion industry’s most coveted handbags – and the crowning jewel – our stunning Raffle Ring.
Lunch with an Old Bag shines a bright light on issues faced by young people, challenges stereotypes, and helps The Prince’s Trust in its mission to improve the lives of disadvantaged young people.
We are thrilled to be able to bring you a face-to-face event again this year and we will of course abide by all safety guidelines which are in place at the time of the event.
